Jersey City Public Schools values a strong home-school connection that enables every student to
succeed. To support this partnership, the Curriculum and Instruction and Early Childhood
departments are happy to announce their fourth annual Family Literacy Day for students and their
families. During this event, families will experience a day immersed in literacy, featuring
storytelling, art projects centered on literary elements, and games that foster a love of reading.
Family Literacy Day will be held on May 2, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Dr. Maya
Angelou Elementary School, PS #20. The event is open to all Jersey City Public Schools
students in grades PreK-8. Families should register using the QR code or registration link on the
flyer on or before Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
